PROFHILO®
There are many fantastic skin boosters on the market today. However, one of the most well known in the UK is PROFHILO®, an award-winning injectable treatment for boosting and hydrating the skin; which also remodels ageing and sagging tissue.
PROFHILO® has one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market (64mg / 2ml) and the unique formulation contains different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid, which have a prolonged stimulating activity on the dermal cells. When injected into skin, Profhilo® stimulates the skin cell receptors to counteract skin laxity and improve and restore firmness of the skin.
The most common areas of treatment include the face and neck and can also be used for the décolletage, hands, arms, knees and abdomen area where it would effectively treat skin laxity.

Are skin boosters safe?
Skin boosters are one of the safest treatments available if you are looking to improve your skin, reduce lines and wrinkles and provide lasting moisture.
Skin boosters are made of hyaluronic acid (HA) which occurs naturally in the body. Unfortunately, HA greatly diminishes with age, leading to tired, dull skin with loss of elasticity.
By injecting HA and amino acids into the skin, the normal structure of the skin is restored, tissue nutrition is improved and collagen production is rejuvenated.
Due to their versatile nature, skin boosters are suitable for all skin types.
How many treatments will I need?
You will need a minimum of two treatments. However, 3 to 4 are recommended 2-4 weeks apart.
How many treatments you will require to achieve the desired result will depend on many factors, such as whether you smoke, have a healthy lifestyle and sun damage.
Skin boosters offer a subtle, gradual change in skin quality and elasticity. What you get is a natural but noticeably invigorated look to your skin.
Once you have completed the initial course of treatments results generally last up to six months. A top up session is recommended every 6 – 9 months to maintain results. What should I do before the appointment?

What should I do after the appointment?
- You may experience some bruising and slight swelling after the treatment. Heavy exercise, and extreme heat, such as saunas, steam rooms and sun beds should be avoided until this subsides
- Keep the skin clean in the treatment area – do not apply makeup that day
Are skin boosters better than a good home care regime?
Unlike generic topical creams and moisturisers on the market that sit on top of the surface of the skin, skin boosters are delivered deep into the dermis layer of the skin.
Topical skin treatments, serums and creams do not penetrate the epidermis layer. This means that although these products may benefit the appearance of the skin, their advantages end there. However, skin boosters are injected directly into the dermis. With this treatment process, the skin will receive the entirety of the active ingredients plus all their skin-boosting benefits straight into its core centre.
As the product is injected directly into the dermis, this will also promote the production of collagen and elastin over a long period in addition to showing instant results.
How are skin boosters administered?
Skin booster treatments are generally administered using tiny injections with a very fine needle. Occasionally a blunt canula may be used, for instance around the delicate eye area. However, tiny injections may be best to deliver into the correct layer of the dermis to maximise results.
Alternatively, if you would prefer not to have skin booster injections, skin boosters can be applied topically and used during a microneedling facial.
By combining microneedling with hyaluronic acid, the skin boosters deeply hydrate the skin, while also stimulating the production of collagen and elastin to improve skin quality.
